Writing in the cement... 11.14.07

We wrote in the cement of the garage slab today. We decided we wanted to represent, spiritually, both of our parents along side us as a family.
So, this is what the cement will read:

Matthew 7:24
Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is a wise man who built his house on the rock.
(Jason's mom sent us this verse as she thought of this one and then went to Dad's Bible, only to find the marker on this page.)

Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, He is a refuge for those who trust Him.
(Daddy called this afternoon with this verse as it was Grandpa Gerdes' favorite verse and is applicable in the refuge (place of rest) the Lord is providing for our family as we trust in Him.)

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
(This verse I held onto as a young teenager, through my school years, and it was on our wedding program as it was special to us in all we went through in our dating years and has now encouraged us over and over in our marriage and parenthood.)

We ended it with:

Our Patch of Flowers grows...
2008

Thanks to Charlie for joining us on our special trip and taking pictures for us!
We love you!!
