Colors and Choices

Tonight we chose all the colors for every ceiling, room wall and trim paint in the house.
We also decided on the tile for the master bath, vinyl for the upstairs bath, wood floor color, shutter style, granite counter color and exterior paint colors. Augh, what hard decisions they were but I am glad to have them finalized. We still have to decide on the carpet but have to wait to get the upgrade prices before we decide on the style and color. It is really getting close!!!!
The living room will be a light tan/beige/neutral color, our bedroom will be the color of our present living room at John Wesley Drive, the dining room will be a very light version of the neutral color, the kitchen/eating area/keeping room will be a very light blue all with soft white/creamy ceilings and trim. Caroline's bedroom will be a light pale pink with a soft white ceiling and trim and Doster's room will be a light neutral color. I'll be painting one of his walls barn red, when we move in, with a barn door. I am wanting as much wood stain and neutral colors as possible to create a soft flow and Craftsman feel.
February 2nd is our "unofficial" moving day!!

Update 12.30.07

Yesterday they started the sheet rock and we visited around 9:00 a.m. This morning we went to see the progress around 8:30 a.m. and it was complete. It is so neat to see the walls up and not have to imagine the definition to the house, but actually see the walls. We are still having problems with a few leaks so Jason will be dealing with that tomorrow with our builder. We want to be careful they replace the sheet rock where the leaks are rather than leave them as we don't want any possibilities of mold.

Update 12.24.07

The siding is complete except for a few finishing touches.

A few Craftsman touches - cedar shank siding on two peaks.

Shed style roof on this dormer instead of a peak.

Overhang instead of roof being flush against the house.

Insullation is up, although there are several questions we have.
We want to make sure there is good insullation on inside walls
as well as outside walls to ensure a quiet house.

update 12.19.07

We haven't done pictures in a few days because there have been lots going on inside and little out. The siding will be completed this evening, the electrical is all in, the HVAC is done, we opted for the central vacuum and the pipes for that have been installed, fireplace is in, cabinets are ordered and kitchen designed, and we're picking out colors this week!! It is getting closer. We are so excited and ready for this adventure to begin. Tonight as we drove over it had more of a "home" feeling to it and I felt myself being more prepared to leave our home and truly snuggle into this house.

Roof is complete 12.08.07

The roof is complete and the HVAC is done.

Our first meal in our home. Doster and Caroline waiting for their pizza.

Our make-shift kitchen counter.

Tonight I wrote a verse on the studs in each of the rooms, creating one more legacy for our family, covering each room and person with scripture.
